NOT A RACE!
THIS IS A PARTY ON WHEELS!
Folks on bikes, roller skates, roller blades, skateboards, and wheelchairs invited to attend on teams.
Truly – this is a silly event. Meant to be fun and funny. We have had our eyes on the Ladds 500 event out of Portland, Oregon for a long time, and in September 2025, we brought to Buffalo! Over 300 people participated in the inaugural event, and we expect that to double for year 2.
So it’s not a race? No. It’s a relay.
Going farther is cooler than going faster. This is a relay. HAVE A BLAST! So long as you’re being respectful to those around you and passersby.

150 Laps?! Are you insane?
Hell, we might even do 200 depending on how much fun we’re having. Teams are encouraged! We’ll have a pit area just outside of the inner circle party zone where you can safely dismount your bike and tag your other teammates back in – some teammates can be riding/skating while other teammates enjoy the DJ, food and drinks inside the circle.
Choose your pace. No one is actually counting all your laps. Hop-on, hop-off, party. EASY.
Hitting a pedestrian is an automatic DQ for your team. Causing a crash makes you a jerk. Close passes ruin people’s good time. Make it fun for everyone. Don’t be an ass.

Yes, it’s a free event. But you still need to fill out a waiver!
All participants MUST have a wrist band on. How do you get one? FILLING OUT THE WAIVER, ON-SITE THAT DAY. (Like Cranksgiving!)
Our ride begins at 4:00PM sharp, so please come early to get that waiver signed and returned and get a band on your wrist.
We’re paying for the permits, the insurance, the road closure signage, and so much more with support from M&T Bank.
DRESS UP. WIN $.
Bring your capes, your costumes, your flags. Your cargo bikes. Your tandem bikes! Your side-by-sides, your trikes, your uni’s. Your skateboards, your roller skates, your rollerblades, your tricked out wheelchairs.
Best Individual Costume $250*
Best Team Costume $500*
Best Decorated Bike(s) $250*
*Must still be safe to bike on/roll on/skate on for yourself and those around you.
How will we keep track of laps?
GObike team and our volunteers are not going to count for you. However your team decides to track their laps is up to your team. Just don’t lie about it ya turkey!

eBikes?
TIER 1 (PEDAL-ASSIST) ONLY. This is too slow, and too crowded of an event to accommodate anyone using a throttle on their bike.
For example a Reddy + bike is pedal assist and has no throttle. That style is permitted.
Rain or shine?
Yeah! Do the Bills postpone their game if it’s raining? Hell no. Dress for the weather and plan to be there.
Can we bring kids?
Your kids are cool. And if you’re confident they can handle themselves riding in the crowd without causing a crash, then bring ’em on their bike or skates! If they’re too small, then mount them onto your bike, or pull their wagon while you skate, etc. NOTE: Any participating child under age 14, no matter their mode choice, must wear a helmet per NYS law.
NOTE: Your child must register on-site so that parent/guardian can fill out the waiver in-person. Thank you!

No matter your mode, Wear Your Helmet, Please!
Why are we doing this?
Why not? We still remember the Buffalo of the 90’s and 2000’s when we took ourselves a lot less seriously, gathered downtown often, and felt a stronger community connection. Best way to bring those vibes back is with a party, in an iconic square, entirely closed to cars.
The best way to rebuild community is to protect, celebrate, and encourage people to get back out on the street. We don’t build strong communities behind windshields, or on keyboards. Our city gets stronger every time we’re outside together!

Just wanna spectate?
Sweet. Come on down. Just don’t cause a crash by darting through the square, Frogger.
Food?
In 2025, we booked Buffalo’s Best Dog (Old School Downtown favorite), GO Veggie (Perennial favorite vendor from SkyRide), and Libby’s Lemonade (Because she’s on a bike!).
Drinks?
We’ll be selling beer and seltzer on-site if you’d like to buy some. We’ll have bottled water, but feel free to pack up what you wanna have while you relay in and out.
