Pop-up complete streets projects are temporary street treatments that provide community members and decision-makers with a tangible visualization of how walking, bicycling, and public transit facilities can create safer, more engaging streets.
In 2018, we amped up our projects to a more ambitious volume and breadth of projects that spanned the entire City of Buffalo and included Niagara Falls. We streamlined our crosswalk painting process and secured stencils made and donated by Rigidized Metals. We also move towards conducting all tactical pop-ups by bike to the greatest extent possible.
In total, GObike completed tactical bike lane refreshes in six corridors, painted 62 crosswalks at community schools, and painted four bump-outs.
