Bike to School Day

National Bike to School Day

Bike to School Day is celebrated nationally the first Wednesday of each May, with students, parents, caretakers, teachers, and school staff riding bikes to school in the morning. GObike has been participating in Buffalo in various ways since the first National Bike to School Day in 2012.

5000+ Events Nationwide

GObike has participated in Bike to School Day in a number of ways, from staff joining students, parents, and teachers from select schools on early morning bike rides, to consulting with parents and teachers on hosting their own events, to encouraging bike rides and activities throughout the entire school district.

We look forward to continuing to encourage biking to school and providing resources for successful events–on Bike to School Day and throughout the school year.

Here’s what our participants have to say about Bike to School Day! Contact us to get involved.

Melissa M., Parent | PS 32 Bennett Park

Your [Colin Carpenter’s] safety check was fun, informative, easy to remember, and great kinesthetic learning, as it really made the kids feel like active participants in the ride and brought new awareness to what I might call their “bike space.

Jenny H., Teacher | PS 67 Discovery School

A majority of our students are neighborhood kids and absolutely love Bike to School day. I am so happy that we were part of this.
