New, much-needed bike lanes are coming to Buffalo streets! Thank you to everyone who signed our Bike Lane Request Form and filled out our survey. That support and community feedback has played an important role in moving forward with infrastructure that is making Buffalo a better place for biking.
For at least several weeks, if not longer, the City of Buffalo has been preparing to install bike lanes and shared lane markings (“sharrows”) on several streets.
One project that has received a lot of attention recently is the plan to put innovative “buffered bike lanes” or cycle-tracks on Linwood Avenue, restructuring the flow of automobile traffic and allowing bicycles to travel in both directions.
There have been mixed feelings about restructuring traffic on Linwood, including the decision-making process. After a community meeting on Tuesday, September 25th, the community and the City have come to an agreement on the final design.
